Varketili is a large residential area in eastern Tbilisi, part of Samgori district, south of the Tbilisi Sea. Most of it was built in 1982-1988 on the orchards of the former Varketili state farm, and since 1985 it has had the Varketili metro station, the end of the Akhmeteli-Varketili line. It splits into Varketili 3 (microdistricts I-IV), the Upper Plateau (Zemo Plato), the Varketili III massive (blocks 1-10) and Varketili Meurneoba, an area of private houses and land plots. From autumn 2026 listings, the median asking price for a flat is about 1,368 USD per square metre, about 17% below the Tbilisi median, and a 2-room flat rents for about 462 USD a month. People most often look for flats near the metro, daily rentals, new-build flats and cheap one-room flats.
