How it's calculated
Fuel needed = distance / 100 × consumption. Trip cost = fuel × price per litre. In the comparison, LPG is usually cheaper but consumption is a little higher — the calculator shows both so you can compare the saving.
Example
300 km at 8 L/100km and a price of 2.9 gives ~24 L × 2.9 = 69.6 on petrol. The same trip on LPG is often cheaper.
