Fuel & trip calculator
This free calculator works out the fuel cost of a journey and compares petrol/diesel with gas — CNG (methane) or LPG (propane). Pick a country (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia) and approximate local prices are filled in GEL, AZN or AMD; replace them with the price at your pump. Enter the distance and the car's consumption (L/100km) to see the fuel needed, the trip cost, the cost per km and each passenger's share.
Approximate prices: GE — station-chain boards (2026-08), AZ — Tariff Council/SOCAR (AI-92, diesel), AM — public price trackers (2026-10). Enter your own. Updated: 2026-10.
How it's calculated
Fuel needed = distance / 100 × consumption (doubled for a round trip). Trip cost = fuel × price per litre. LPG is usually cheaper than petrol but the car burns roughly 20% more litres. CNG is sold per cubic metre; the calculator uses the rough rule 1 L of petrol ≈ 1 m³ of CNG. In Azerbaijan the AI-92 and diesel prices are set by the Tariff Council; in Georgia and Armenia prices are free-market and vary by station chain.
Example
Tbilisi–Batumi is about 380 km. At 8 L/100km that is ~30.4 L; at ~3.6 GEL for Regular ≈ 109 GEL. Baku–Ganja (~360 km) in the same car on AI-92 at 1.15 AZN ≈ 33.1 AZN.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find consumption?
In the car's specs or on the trip computer. Most accurate: fill the tank, note the odometer, and at the next fill divide the litres added by the km driven and multiply by 100.
How much is petrol in Georgia?
Prices are set by the station chains and change often; in August 2026 Regular was about 3.56–3.68 GEL/L, Premium 3.73–3.83 and diesel 3.99–4.34. The calculator's prices are approximate — enter your pump price.
Why are fuel prices in Azerbaijan so stable?
AI-92 and diesel are regulated prices set by the Tariff Council (about 1.15 and 1.00 AZN per litre). AI-95 is more expensive.
Is CNG or LPG cheaper than petrol?
Usually yes per km, which is why gas conversions are common across the region, but the conversion pays off only after a certain mileage. Pick your gas type and enter its price to see the saving.
Is the tool free?
Yes — completely free. Bazarla is not a government site.
