Chughureti is a district on the left bank of the Mtkvari in central Tbilisi, between Avlabari and Didube, home to 66,722 people (Geostat, 2024). It covers Chughureti proper (Vorontsovi, Okrosubani, Plekhanovi), Kukia, Svanetisubani and Arsenali. David Aghmashenebeli Avenue runs through it, and it has Tbilisi Central Railway Station and two metro stations, Marjanishvili and Station Square. The old streets were laid out in the 19th century, partly by German colonists, so many homes are two- and three-storey brick houses around Italian courtyards, with new apartment blocks going up between them. From asking prices (Sep-Oct 2026), the median apartment in the district costs about $1,597 per m2, around $1,498 in Kukia. A two-room flat (one bedroom) rents for about $600 a month. Being close to the centre and the metro, the district has many daily rentals and hostels.
