Deposit calculator
This free deposit calculator works out the interest you'll earn on a bank deposit, the tax the bank withholds and the net amount you receive at the end of the term. Pick the country — Georgia, Azerbaijan or Armenia — and the local rule is applied: in Georgia interest paid to individuals is taxed 5% at source, in Armenia bank-deposit interest is taxed 10%, and in Azerbaijan 10% — except that, for manat deposits, the first 200 AZN of each month's interest per bank is tax-free and manat deposits held 18 months or longer are fully exempt. You can also choose the currency (local, USD, EUR), compounding and monthly top-ups.

How the calculation works
With monthly compounding, each month's interest = balance × annual rate / 12, and it is added to the balance so the next month earns interest on a larger amount (compound interest). Without compounding, interest is paid out monthly and the balance stays the same. Top-ups are added at the start of each month from month 2. Tax is calculated on each month's interest: Georgia 5%, Armenia 10%, Azerbaijan 10% on the part of monthly interest above 200 AZN for manat deposits (0 for 18+ months) and on all interest for USD/EUR deposits. Net interest = interest − tax.
Worked example
10,000 at 10% per year for 12 months with monthly compounding earns about 1,047 in interest. In Georgia the 5% tax is ≈52 GEL, net ≈995 GEL. In Armenia the 10% tax leaves ≈942 net. In Azerbaijan a 10,000 AZN deposit earns ≈83–91 AZN a month — under the 200 AZN monthly exemption — so the tax is 0; on 30,000 AZN interest is ≈3,141 and tax ≈74 AZN.
Frequently asked questions
What is compounding?
Adding earned interest to the balance so later interest is calculated on a larger amount.
Is deposit interest taxed in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia?
Yes, and the bank withholds it for you. Georgia: 5% withholding on interest paid to individuals. Armenia: 10% on bank-deposit interest (since 2023). Azerbaijan: 10%, but for manat deposits the part of monthly interest up to 200 AZN per bank is exempt, and manat deposits of 18+ months not withdrawn early are fully exempt (a 3-year relief introduced in 2024). USD/EUR deposits get no relief.
How much of my deposit is insured?
Georgia: up to 50,000 GEL per bank from 1 April 2026 (was 30,000). Azerbaijan: up to 100,000 AZN for deposits within the Deposit Insurance Fund's rate cap. Armenia: up to AMD 16 million for dram deposits and AMD 7 million for foreign-currency deposits.
How accurate is the result?
It's an estimate; the bank's day-count and capitalisation dates can change the result slightly.
Is the tool free?
Yes — completely free.
