How the calculation works
The calculator relies on the luteal phase lasting about 14 days: ovulation happens roughly 14 days before your next period. So the ovulation day = start of last period + (cycle length − 14). The fertile window starts 5 days before ovulation and ends on ovulation day, because sperm can survive for several days. Everything runs in your browser and no data is sent anywhere.
Worked example
If your last period started on 1 August and your cycle is 28 days, ovulation falls around 15 August, the fertile window runs 10–15 August, and your next period is expected around 29 August. A different cycle length changes the result.
