How it works

A VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique 17-character code for each vehicle. The tool sends the code to the open database of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and shows the technical data it returns. The result is cached on the server. VINs never use the letters I, O or Q.

Example

Enter the VIN 1HGCM82633A004352 and the tool returns 'Honda Accord, 2003'. You can find your car's VIN on the windshield or in its documents.
