Aliyev: Armenia has a reliable source of fuel - Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized his country's critical role in supplying fuel to Armenia during remarks at the opening of the Shushi Global Media Forum. According to APA, Aliyev highlighted that Armenia now has access to a dependable energy source through Azerbaijan.

The president detailed Azerbaijan's significant contributions to Armenia's logistics and energy infrastructure. Over 40,000 tons of diverse cargo have been transported across Azerbaijani territory from Russia, Kazakhstan, and other nations destined for Armenia. Beyond transit services, Azerbaijan has undertaken direct exports of petroleum products to the neighboring country, with deliveries exceeding 10,000 tons to date.

Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of this arrangement, particularly given the current global fuel shortage affecting many nations. He stated that Armenia possesses a reliable fuel source in Azerbaijan and no longer needs to source gasoline and diesel from various regions worldwide. Without this access, Armenia would face significant challenges meeting its energy requirements on the international market.

The president's remarks reflect growing economic interdependence between the two nations and Azerbaijan's position as a key energy supplier in the South Caucasus region. The transportation agreements and fuel exports represent important developments in regional commerce and stability.
