Ukraine launched a drone strike against a major Russian oil refinery in Bashkortostan Republic, resulting in explosions and fires at the facility. The attack targeted Gazprom Neftekchim Salavatiy, one of Russia's principal oil refineries, with Ukrainian media confirming the operation's success. The complex processes approximately 10 million tons of crude oil annually and represents a critical component of Russia's energy infrastructure.
Local residents reported multiple direct impacts on the facility through social media accounts. Emergency services immediately mobilized to contain the resulting fires and prevent further escalation at the industrial complex.
The strike represented a continuation of Ukraine's campaign against Russian energy infrastructure. The facility had previously faced drone attacks on September 18, 2025, when strikes damaged the CDU-AVT-4 unit, a core operating component of the refinery. A subsequent assault occurred on September 24, 2025, further pressuring the strategic installation.
Concurrent attacks were reported in southern regions as well. The city of Gelendzhik in Krasnodar Territory experienced explosions, with fires erupting near the local airport. These incidents compound Russia's escalating challenge in protecting vital energy infrastructure across multiple operational zones amid the ongoing conflict.
