TiBS TechSchool, a free online education initiative managed by TiBS, continues to expand access to technology education across Georgia. Over its three years of operation, the program has engaged more than 4,500 students from throughout the country, with 35 percent hailing from regional areas, and has graduated approximately 100 students. The platform serves grades 9-12, delivered entirely through online sessions, which eliminates geographic and financial barriers for students seeking quality technical education.
The program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning across multiple domains. Participants study web programming, development of mobile and web applications, UI/UX design, graphic design, and social media marketing strategies. Working in partnership with GeoLab and leveraging experienced instructors, students apply their knowledge to real-world projects that reinforce classroom concepts. The curriculum aims to build technological competency, foster critical thinking, and equip students with the professional skills demanded by contemporary careers.
A distinctive feature is the TiBS TechSchool Ambassadors program, through which graduates become educators in their own regions. These ambassadors utilize artificial intelligence tools and presentation methodologies to communicate complex technology topics in accessible, understandable ways. Developed through collaboration with GeoLab and Bakswood, this peer-to-peer learning model draws from established international approaches and strengthens technology initiatives at the community level.
The platform regularly updates its curriculum to stay current with rapid technological advancement and evolving student interests. New student enrollment opens in September, offering an expanded array of course options and learning pathways to prospective participants.
