Mingachevir is an industrial city of about 106,000 people on the Kura river and the Mingachevir reservoir, 323 km from Baku. The city was founded in 1948 alongside the hydro dam. It is home to the Mingachevir hydro power plant, the new 8 November power station, the Azerkabel plant, Mingachevir State University, tourism and medical colleges, and the Kur Olympic rowing centre that hosted canoe sprint at the 2015 European Games. On Bazarla you can post free ads for flats and private houses for sale or rent (centre, Qres settlement, Günəşli, right bank), land, used cars, phones, furniture, jobs and local services. In summer the reservoir beaches and holiday centres push up demand for daily rentals, and students look for rooms near the university and colleges.
